Insight UK has officially joined forces with Datapipe (News - Alert) to benefit from the company’s industry leading expertise in managed services to extend its InsightCloud services portfolio. Already a prestigious player in the space, this partnership only further positions Datapipe as a leading provider of cloud hosting and infrastructure for outsourced IT.
As a technology reseller in Europe, Insight UK provides a variety of hardware and software solutions that are required by businesses and public sector clients. It is also an IT advisor for companies, or its customers for computers, hardware, software and services such as cloud computing.
Ashley Gatehouse, VP Marketing EMEA, Insight, explained that “We advance our customers’ goals by helping make the most of their business-critical technology – whether it’s cloud, virtualization, networking, or security.” Datapipe played very nicely into this mission at Insight, where it would work to further enhance Insight’s customers’ business-critical technology.
For example, the InsightCloud portfolio will be further enhanced with the inclusion of Datapipe’s managed hosting expertise. The companies will work in tandem to help client organizations run their businesses efficiently by leveraging cloud-computing solutions.
“Cloud infrastructures have completely changed the way people think about the channel,” Gatehouse added. “It’s no longer how quickly you can move boxes, but the value-added services brought to the table. That's the idea behind Insight and our InsightCloud offering.”
Datapipe’s signature Stratosphere cloud solution will also be used by Insight as a managed cloud computing platform that can serve all enterprise requirements for governance, usability, compliance and interoperability with traditional compute platforms.
Additionally, Stratosphere provides self-service cloud environments, cloud diversity with the AWS ecosystem and hybrid cloud options with managed hosting, compliance and security services. This addition will unquestionably support InsightCloud services including hosted desktop, e-mail servers and servers-on-demand, as well as will ensure robust backup and recovery.
All of the solutions will be available to global customers soon following the initial launch in North America and EMEA region, official sources confirmed.
Datapipe’s flagship cloud hosting environment, Stratosphere, is based on 10GE infrastructure and enterprise-grade high performance hardware, with cloud regions in Silicon Valley, New York Metro, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Customers have the flexibility to select and size Linux or Windows servers in minutes, and the service supports KVM, VMware and Xen hypervisors. Security preferences are managed in a single configuration across multiple data centers, and Datapipe uses authentication and authorization via SAML 2.0.
